Perfección Inmaculada, or immaculate perfection, is the top of the Don Valente range, made at the distillery of Marco Antonio Jáuregui Huerta, NOM 1450, in El Arenal, Jalisco, in the lowlands of the Tequila Valley. Don Valente works in the traditional way: 100% blue Weber agave cooked slowly in brick ovens rather than autoclaves or a diffuser, crushed on a roller mill, fermented in stainless steel, and double distilled in copper pot stills. As an extra añejo, it has spent a minimum of three years in oak, the longest aging category in tequila and the one that moves the spirit furthest from fresh agave toward the richness of a well-aged brown spirit. The producer's own tasting notes, published with its 2023 Bartender Spirits Awards entry, describe a dry and smoky nose, a beautiful roasted amber color, and a nicely balanced palate with a clean, caramelized agave flavor that ends in a short finish.
